The new Aadvark Media Player is a professional hardware-accelerated player application that tracks running timecode and was designed to make selective cuts when working with the new Panasonic GH5 6K photo mode and other 4K (and beyond) video clips
Aardvark is the direct replacement for the White Dash Player / Trimmer providing better performance and reliability in a well-behaved interface
Aardvark Player is for 64-bit Windows systems only!
Aardvark provides the ability to select in and out points to mark a region you want to work with and then save that region to a new file – saved files will contain the same source material as the original maintaining quality
The Aardvark Player can import most any video or audio format including XAVC and MXF and will leverage any GPU available and is an excellent stand-alone media player that can work with modest computer resources – it can also playback DCP JPEG2000 video provided sufficient hardware resources
Aardvark can be operated by keyboard commands and now can operate in Full Frame Interface mode for viewing without the transport controls
To avoid possible licensing issues , neither V6 nor VMac directly perform any video conversions and neither distribution contains ffmpeg.
The Media Command Builder and VMac both simply build a command-line for ffmpeg
To use the Media Command Builder and audio tools for conversions you will need to download and install ffmpeg.exe to your system PATH – or copy directly to the V6 application directory
NOTICE! V6 is now a 64-bit application. If you have installed previous versions of V6 you will need to re-install ffmpeg.exe into the new application directory located at C:\Program Files\Wayne R Norton\V6
(Previous application directory location was C:\Program Files (x86)\Wayne R Norton\V6)
You may need to manually uninstall versions earlier than 6.2.00 (although leaving earlier versions installed poses no problem)
The new version of V6 also allows you to set the directory location of ffmpeg.exe (right-click and select Preferences) – this makes experimenting with multiple versions of ffmpeg a snap
V6 is a multimedia tool suite designed to augment audio / video workflows in a professional environment. Tools are designed for high fidelity color accurate video conversions, detailed Exif quality reports and easy-to-use audio and video measurement tools
The V6-Q can be used for loading in any number of media files for automated sequential playback – great for previewing a day’s video session or playing your favorite tunes! Multiple windows may be opened for running multiple sessions and functions as well
V6 is also designed to run on a wide variety of PC systems and will work even with modest resources – the more powerful the system the better the performance, but V6 will also run on lesser hardware so you can put that old PC back to work cranking out media conversions and Exif Reports!
V6 is designed to run on 64-bit Windows systems only!
